Audubon Nature Center Field Trip
We enjoyed a great trip to the Audubon Nature Center in Huntington on Thursday, October 2. We learned a variety of ways that plants and animals get ready for winter. Our guide helped us explore the meadow and the forest. Students pretended to be monarch butterflies migrating to Mexico and squirrels burying acorns for the winter. We found many colors of fall near the beaver pond. The field trip touched upon three of our kindergarten science units: organisms, weather and five senses.
The Audubon Nature Center is free and open to the public. The Audubon is a great place to visit anytime of the year.
