Books of Three

The past several weeks, we have been exploring some of the classic "Books of Three" stories. We read several versions of The Three Little Pigs and compared how the stories are alike and different.  We read a few versions of The Three Bears.  The students favorite version is The Three Blairs (ask your child!).

Retelling is a very important reading comprehension skill. Here children are retelling the story of the Three Little Pigs story in their own words. They are using some cardboard props and plastic story characters.

Spring Five Senses Walk

We went on a Five Senses Walk on the RES grounds on Friday, April 11. Our walk was guided by Daniel and Sarah, educators from the Audubon Nature Center. We used four of our five senses (we didn't taste today) to observe the changes of the season.

Our class had a lesson in how to use the binoculars that were purchased through our kindergarten Four Winds grant.  We looked for birds, gathered signs of spring, examined the mud, and noticed the smells of spring.

Dress for Hiking on Friday

Ms. Agner’s Class Hike

On Friday, April 11, Ms. Agner’s class will be going on a  5 SENSES HIKE on the RES school grounds. Our hike will be led by staff from the Audubon Nature Center.

Please be sure that your child is dressed properly for an hour of outdoor exploration, including boots or sturdy shoes that can walk in snow and mud.
